What is the difference between an expense and a money transfer?

Category: Expenses and reimbursements

In Tricount, a "money transfer" is cash which moves from hand to hand. It impacts on the balances but not on the total expenses. Take this example: you owe some money to the group (20 euros). To repay this, you have two options. Either you pay for the next expense (of +- 20 euros), or you repay 20 euros to someone in the group. If you want Tricount to take the second option into account, you need to enter this transaction as a "money transfer" (seeing as it is not an "expense").
